Illinois Quail Hunting

Most people say our quail are the best flying pen-raised birds they have seen. We have several fields in which to hunt - big to small. We can have small parties or big parties. We have enough fields to have several groups at once. We also are offering release covey hunts on quail. These birds will be pen-raised and then released in July or August in coveys. We will put one covey every 200 yards. These birds will act just like wild quail. You can bring your own dog or we will supply a guide and dog for $80.00 a day.

We also have 2 areas that we have set aside for wild quail hunts. We have extensively managed this area to increase the numbers of the fast flyers. Experience the flush and cover that consists of 15-20 birds (sometimes more). These areas are set up to shoot daily bag limits determined by the state of IL. We offer only a small number of these hunts per season so act fast. It has taken a great deal of time and effort to get the number of wild quail that we have now. Each year the numbers increase, making the hunts more exciting each year.

Koeberlein's Hunting Preserve is a family run business. Our hours are very flexible. KHP specializes in dog training and guided hunts for large groups. We have pheasants, chukar, and quail. We use the strongest flying birds possible. The success of a good hunt depends on having birds that are as close to wild birds as you can have in a release system. We hunt upland game strictly in natural grass fields, and we have a few feed plots that aid in our dove hunting season.

We also have Bobwhite Quail and Chukars available at the club. You will find that our Quail and Chukars are large and very strong flyers. They can provide a nice challenge to even the most experienced wing shooters. These are available by reservation and are pay on release. You will have your own area to hunt them in but you can still go hunt the rest of the club after you are done if you want to.

Located 60 miles southwest of Chicago, just off I55. We are a state licensed shooting preserve, situated on our 4th generation family farm, with a heated hunt shed, kitchen & bathroom. Nothing beats an exciting day with your bird dog on point and a covey of quail exploding in every direction. This great game bird is admired for its fast moving target which can be challenge to catch up with your scattergun. Eight quail can be harvested each day with 16 in possession.
