Bayou Teche Hunting Preserve is changing directions to a self guided hunting preserve. Hunting partys will need to bring your own guide and dogs. I will however be looking for guides and putting a list on my website of people who are willing to come and guide for you with there dogs.

Both morning and afternoon hunts are offered with morning hunts beginning at 9 a.m. and afternoon hunts beginning at 2 p.m. A minimum of 14 shooting opportunities per hunter is guaranteed. For convenience, shells can be purchased, and we offer the option of purchasing cleaned birds after the hunt. We also offer riding hunts in which hunters are able to cover more area by vehicle and reduces the amount of walking necessary. A riding hunt is ideal for older hunters or anyone who would just prefer to see more scenery.

50 thousand acres featuring swamp tours, nature & birding adventures and by season, alligator, duck, deer, quail & European pheasant hunting. Swamp tours and recreational charter fishing fresh or salt water, also available. Accommodations available at the plantation "Big House" which dates back to 1864. Up to 11 guests. Some meals included. Also available is skeet shooting & tennis.

Long River Lodge features the most privately-owned restored quail habitat in the state. Guided hunts for quail, chukkar and pheasant are available November through March. Long River Lodge offers well-appointed guest cabins, a custom designed lodge featuring fine dining and a full bar. For fly-in hunters, Long River Lodge has a 2600' grass airstrip that allows you to taxi up to your cabin.
